Wine Type: Chilean White

Viognier De Gras ‘Reserva’

Colchagua Valley, Chile 2004

A little bit of rocket fuel! a late harvested style which has been fermented dry - possibly an experiment by this producer, who is better known for their lovely Merlot Reserve. Highly textured, full bodied and showing the full impact of its barrel fermentation. It's got a creaminess on the nose that is quite compelling, with peaches and cream aromas and flavors to match - but like any vamp, it has a bite! 15% alcohol gets a bit hot on the back if the wine is allowed to come down in temperature, however it's still a decent, if stout little number. Make sure you order up some calimari before she puts you down.

Gewürztraminer-Riesling ‘Santa Digna’ Miguel Torres

Chile 2005

Blended with 12% Riesling, it's a nice light quaffer. Light bodied with fresh aromas of blooming flowers and herbal tea. A note of lemon drop gives away the Riesling, which lends a nice citrus acidic structure, making it a fine match for just about any light meal, even salads.
